Hey FICOs!

Summer has arrived.. and so has Issue No. 2 of FICO Dose.

When the Gran Canaria heat hits, everything slows down, and honestly? We’re here for it. At least now we can find a beach volley spot without having to fight for our lives.

This month, we celebrated 2 years of FICO. Wild, right? One minute I’m panic-buying 10 discounted desks before even signing the lease, and the next I’m spotting 15% more white hairs in the mirror. Time is a scam!

I hope you are noticing how much I enjoy writing this newsletter. I feel like the Beyoncé of coworking content… minus the millions, the back up dancers, and the hair fan… but I do have strong opinions, a decent sense of humor, and a milk frother. So basically the same thing.

Anyway, let’s get into it, shall we?

You’d think the owner of a coworking space would remember to take a group photo at the 2-year anniversary celebration… Yeah, me too! But instead, here’s the best photo I have, which looks more like a gender reveal celebration. It’s a girl! 🩷

So… the FICO sign got taken down by some drunk people during Carnival back in March. I told myself, “I’ll fix it once Carnival’s over.” Spoiler: Carnival ended 3 months ago. Yeah, I waited until June to fix it… Thanks David for your help and skills. Thanks Matija for… showing up, holding a random tool and watch things happen. We love a cheerleader ✌🏻

Olimpia joined the team. She’s tiny, she’s Italian, and when she’s not working, she’s literally spinning in the air (because walking is too basic). She’ll be co-running the FICO show for the next 5 months, while she builds her business. Come say hi and grab a coffee from her, just don’t be surprised if she’s on tiptoes trying to reach the coffee machine.

We recently started playing beach volleyball after work and it’s already obvious who’s naturally talented… and who should probably stick to walking their emotional support water bottle around the court. Don’t worry, no one’s judging… at least not out loud 🙃

Last but no least…

I did not expect such a warm welcome to this little newsletter experiment, but here we are. Some of your messages made me smile, others made me emotional, and a few made me consider quitting everything to become a full-time writer (don’t worry, I won’t).

I know it sounds cliché, but I genuinely don’t take any of this for granted. Thank you for reading, and reminding me that I’m not just writing into the void.
